Youth Deer Gun Season This Weekend

Saturday and Sunday mark the youth deer gun season across the state of Ohio.

On November 18th and November 19th children accompanied by an adult will enter the woods for Youth Deer Season.

Officials with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources – Division of Wildlife stress hunters must possess a valid youth hunting license and regardless of age, must be accompanied by a non-hunting adult.

A non-hunting adult is any person (a hunting license is not required) age 18 or older who accompanies the young hunter to and from the field and is present with the young hunter while the young hunter is engaged in hunting. The non-hunting adult may not possess any hunting implements.

There can be no more than two youths per adult.

Officials also encourage adults to keep the children within eyesight and to offer as much guidance as possible.

Hunting hours are from 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset.
