The playdates offer a safe, organized opportunity for mothers to connect with each other and strengthen their support system locally. Additionally, the playdates bring children of similar ages together to learn, play, and grow.
“It has been such a wonderful experience partnering with Newsymom on our monthly kids’ playdates. I love to see the families of Stark County come to our center for a fun, interactive activity. Community starts with people coming together as one. We want Stark County to feel like they belong to their community when they are at Belden Village Mall.” said Alisa Carl, Marketing and Business Development Manager, Belden Village Mall.
Newsymom Community Engagement Manager, Tara Ziegler, leads each playdate. Ziegler is a former teacher and continues to be passionate about working with kids.
“There is so much joy when engaging with kids through stories, songs, parachute play and games. They smile, laugh, and learn right in front of their parents in the welcoming setting at Belden Village Mall,” explained Ziegler. “As a veteran teacher, I focus on activities that allow them to build their communication, comprehension, gross motor, social and fine motor skills during fun playdate enrichments.”
From stories and songs to hip hop STEP classes, playdate activities vary and are designed to serve children from preschool through high school.
The next playdate will be Monday, October 18th from 4:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in center court in front of Macey’s. Children from 5th grade to 12th grade are invited to attend a youth-led hip hop STEP exercise class. All supplies needed will be provided and water will be available. There is no cost to attend the event, however, space is limited, and registration is required. To register, visit the Belden Village-Newsymom Playdates Event page at Newsymom.com.
Another preschool playdate will be held in November followed by a vision board activity in December.
The safety of all mall guests, employees, and event organizers continues to be the top priority. Safety regulations during playdates will be in accordance with state and CDC guidelines.
Newsymom is designed to inform, educate, and connect mothers through local news specific to families, editorials, community events, supporting service-based organizations, and more. Team members come from all backgrounds, religions, ethnicities, and lifestyles as we strive to prove that despite differences, we can lean on and even learn from one another. We share a common goal to raise the next generation that we hope will make positive contributions to the future. More information at Newsymom.com.
