Favorite Autumn Family Experiences at The Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District offers unique enriching and family bonding opportunities!

Autumn  Time!

Now is the time to enjoy a lovely car ride to a MWCD Lake Park.  Once you’re there you can:
  • Spend the weekend camping in a cabin (they have heat and fire pits)!
  • Complete a Fall Bingo Challenge
  • Go on a Hike and take photos of animal sightings!  Check out the Blippi Nature Hike Video to get kids excited here!
  • Download the free Seek nature app and photo of different plants during your exploration.
  • Go Fishing or Geocaching.
  • Bring bikes and go bike riding!
  • Make S’mores or cook over a camp fire!  Check out Tinybean’s recipes here!
  • Bring crayons and paper for nature rubbings!  (Need a refresher on how to do these- watch Little People’s Montesorri Preschool video here).
  • Sky-gaze- whether clouds during the day or stars at night, great conversation is waiting!
  • Bring a frisbee, basketball or football for some sports games!

-Whether you live in Stark County, Tuscarawas County or Ashland County- a park is easily an hour or less away!

-Feel free to bring the stroller or wagon!  

-1st time visiting?  There are Park Security Services personnel tobassist guests at Atwood, Charles Mill, Pleasant Hill, Seneca, and Tappan Lake Park ensuring excellent customer service provided to all guests.

Responsible stewards dedicated to providing the benefits of flood reduction, conservation and recreation in the Muskingum River Watershed. The MWCD is the largest conservancy district in the state and led the effort to construct 14 dams and reservoirs. The MWCD has jurisdiction for its operations in all or portions of an 18-county area. The 18 counties wholly or partially contained in the MWCD jurisdiction are Ashland, Belmont, Carroll, Coshocton, Guernsey, Holmes, Harrison, Knox, Licking, Morgan, Muskingum, Noble, Richland, Stark, Summit, Tuscarawas, Wayne, and Washington.
