Listen Up, Ladies! We’re Talking About YOUR Health!

As a woman, it is essential to invest in and take care of your body. Focusing on your reproductive health and wellness is a great way to do that!

Dear Stark Women is brought to you by the Stark County Health Dept.

There are many aspects to reproductive health. Whether you are a mother, a young woman, a wife in a new growing family, or in an older season of life, your reproductive health and wellness are important. Getting pregnant or having a baby is only one example of reproductive needs.

Breast and Cervical Cancer Project

If found early, many breast and cervical cancers can be treated. For women who qualify, the Breast and Cervical Cancer Project (BCCP) may help you receive these lifesaving screenings.

The Stark County Health Department participates in the BCCP. To learn more, call 330-493-9928.

Birth Control

Birth control is used to prevent pregnancy as well as control or manage hormones. Forms of birth control include:

  • Birth Control Pills
  • NuvaRing
  • Birth Control shots
  • Birth Control Patches
  • IUD

Talking with your doctor will help you determine which of these might be right for you.

Family Planning

Finding a trusted OBGYN professional is the first step in starting or growing your family. You can find local professionals at Dear Stark Women. Doctors, nurse practitioners, midwives, doulas, and more are a wonderful resource in your fertility journey.

You can find information about sexually transmitted diseases on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) website. They share symptoms to look out for, prevention measures, and treatments.

Other Services

The CDC is also a good source for information about the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine. The benefits, side effects, and doses can then be discussed with your OBGYN professional.

Dear Stark Women also provides information and sources for additional cancer screenings. You can find resources for reproductive health on the Dear Stark Women website.

Dear Stark Women is a one-stop landing page to help families find and get connected to local resources.  The goal of the landing page is to increase awareness of and access to needed resources for after-hours care, affordable care, reproductive care, healthy relationships, mental health, transportation and more. For more information, visit
