A 16-year-old is facing charges on charges she posted threats on social media.
Stark County Deputies with the assistance of the Canton Police Department arrested the McKinley High School student early Wednesday morning for posting threats on social media.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, on Tuesday, February 20th at approximately 10:20 PM Deputies received information on social media post making threats of violence to McKinley High School and Glen Oak High School.
Deputies were able to track the post made on SnapChat to McKinley High School student.
The student was arrested on the following charges and booked into the Juvenile Attention Center without incident:
Inducing Panic F-2
Making Terroristic Threat F-3
Telecommunications harassment M-1
“We have zero tolerance for this kind of behavior,” explained Sheriff George T. Maier. “There will be no leniency for individuals who indicate they may cause harm to another person. We will be swift and sure in our investigations.”
This incident is unrelated to the two previous arrests made for social media threats by juveniles.
