Mentor Monday is brought to you by Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Central Ohio.
Kevin lives inNew Philadelphia with his wife of 38-years, Sue. He has two children, Joshua and Cynthia and a family at named Jeb.
He currently serves as the National Sales Manager for the RJ Mattews Company and the Vice President on the Board of Directors. But, in addition to his passion for his career, Kevin has committed his time and energy to children in Tuscarawas and Carroll Counties through his role with BBBS.
Kevin first became a member of the BBBS board when hew as leading a local Mac Users Group and the group selected BBBS for the charity donation for the year. He met with then, CEO, Heather Campbel and as they say, the rest is history. “I wanted the opportunity to help a local organization,” he said. “Help that organization grow and support its mission.”
When asked what he enjoys most about being a member of the BBBS board, he had a difficult time choosing just one thing. “Many things. It’s hard to pick one thing. We all care and we all pitch in at events. It’s a great board team.” Kevin added that the importance of the BBBS organization in the community is something protected by each and every board member. “[the organization] supports the local youth whether it’s community-based or school-based,” he said. “I feel that this organization makes a difference in many lives and is impactful to both bigs and littles.”
Kevin added that not only does BBBS create lasting relationships designed to support local youth, but the organization itself creates a sense of community and togetherness. “I want to be able to help guide this organization to success and support it’s efforts regarding fundraising, marketing, and planning. To make BBBS a very strong and durable organization that allows them to do their mission.”
Overall, Kevin noted a hope for others to get involved with BBBS. “Get involved in some way to support this organization and it’s solid effort to help youth in our community grow.”
