TCHD Kicks Off National Public Health Week! National Public Health Week focuses on a new theme each day, bringing awareness that will help us in creating the healthiest nation possible! Learn more about what the Tuscarawas County Health Department does everyday to celebrate National Public Health Week right here on Newsymom!

This is Public Health is brought to you in partnership with the Tuscarawas County Health Department.

The goal of National Public Health Week is to bring awareness to different themes of public health. While the attention is brought to these areas this week, the Tuscarawas County Health Department makes it their mission to help a wide variety of public health areas that you didn’t know about, every single day!

TCHD Services

Most people know the Tuscarawas County Health Department offers help such as their WIC (Women, Infant, and Children) program, providing birth/death certificates for Tuscarawas County citizens, and enforcing proper food handling regulations to ensure you won’t get sick when you dine out!

These are the ten essential public health services the TCHD focuses on!

Did you know there are so many other programs that the TCHD offers?

The Tuscarawas County Health Department also offers:

  • Medical Clinic

    For men and women’s health (preventative screenings included), wellness and preventative care, wellness counseling, pediatric health, and senior health. They also provide referrals!

  • Safe Communities Program

    Safe Communities’ goal is to work together as a community to prevent traffic related fatalities and injuries in Tuscarawas County by increasing traffic safety awareness.

  • Safe Beginnings

    This program assists families with safety support items that will allow their babies and children to get off to a safe and healthy start. Some items they help provide are: baby monitor, cribs w/ mattresses, high chair, stroller, etc.

  • Cribs for Kids

    Qualifying families can get a free pack n’ play for their littles!

  • Water Quality Program

     The TCHD ensures everyone has access to safe, clean water and maintains their septic systems to avoid costly repairs!

  • COVID-19 At-Home Testing

    At-Home COVID-19 tests are available to those who suspect they’re displaying symptoms. Click the link for more info!
