Your baby will love this winter sensory bag!

Babies love to discover new things. You can help them safely explore cold weather by creating and having them play with a winter sensory bag.

When first learning about winter, most people think about the color blue, snow, and the cold. For babies, creating a way they can capture that snapshot is easy with a sensory bag.

A sensory bag is a way for babies (and even toddlers) to use their senses and learn about what’s going on around them. It also allows them the opportunity to feel different sensations and manipulate them too.

What better way to learn about the changing season than a winter sensory bag for babies!

Here are the supplies you’ll need:
  • Gallon Ziplock bag
  • Clear hair gel
  • Blue glitter
  • Cellophane glitter
  • Marshmallows
  • Blue and white puffballs

After you gather all of the supplies for your winter sensory bag, putting it together is easy!

First, empty out half of the hair gel into the Ziplock bag. You don’t want to completely fill the bag because your child will be pushing on it and you definitely don’t want it to break.

Next, add the rest of the supplies to the bag. Then, you’re done!

When presenting sensory bags to your baby, it’s beneficial to either tape it down to a table or a cookie sheet. They can slip and slide, which makes it difficult for your child to play and move everything around. This is also a great activity to make tummy time fun!

Your baby should be supervised while they play with sensory bags. There could be some danger during tummy time with the bag or if the bag somehow breaks open.

This fun, winter activity is easy for you to make and fun for your baby to learn.
