Kent State Tuscarawas Cares about students, staff and the community as is evident based on the wonderful CARE team, dedicated instructors and connections to the community.

After selecting from over 30 different majors at Kent State University (KSU) at Tuscarawas, becoming engaged in the college community comes easily.  There are 20 different clubs to join, band, choir, or athletics to enhance personal growth and professional development in future success as well as a resources to help one mental health and campus safety.

CARE: Consultation • Assessment • Referral • Education

• Cross-functional Team on campus will help if someone notices possible patterns of concerning behavior.
• They can coordinate a supportive, positive outreach in attempts to change behavior before a situation escalates.
• All referrals and information remains confidential and can be submitted digitally.

The 2020 Report on Tuscarawas Campus Safety and Security Bulletin cites that there were 0 counts of:

• Student conduct referrals, sex offences, robbery, aggravated assault, arrests, stalking, violence, motor vehicle theft, liquor violation, drug abuse, weapon possession, or hate crimes.

Clubs

• • Agribusiness Club- promotes agribusiness and community service.

  • Alpha Delta Nu- Gamma Sigma Chapter- National associate degree nursing honor society

  • Anime & Pop Culture Club– meets to explore, discuss and learn about anime, pop culture and the art of cosplay.

  • Animation & Game Design Club- Focuses on computer and traditional animation and prepares for jobs.  They host speakers, sketch sessions and travel to field trips or educational retreats.  The also participate in fund-raising activities

  • Ars mundi Sodalicium (Performing Arts Society)- Increases interest, stimulates creativity, coordinates growth, fosters respect, and recognizes excellence in all of allied arts and crafts of live performance.

  • Criminology & Justice Studies Club- Promotes discipline of criminology & justice studies.

  • Cultural Club- Brings people together in order to express their ideas and opinions focusing on the diversity of cultures and sub-cultures around the world.

  • Education Club- Promotes the field of education.

  • English Club– Encourages community literacy, creative writing, reading circles and public forums for reciting poetry.  Flashfires is a literary magazine that is written by students.

  • History Club- Explores history beyond the classroom.

  • Institute of Electrical/Electronics Engineers (IEEE)– Student chapter of an international organization.

  • Nursing Students Tuscarawas Acting Together (NSTAT)- For nursing students exploring health-related topics and sponsoring clothing or food collections or blood drives.

  • Pride Tuscarawas- Supportive environment for LGBTA students and allies who are supportive of equality for all people of any sexual orientation or gender.

  • Psychology Club– Further study and discussion of human nature.

  • Realms of Roleplay Gaming Club- Creates an open community of gamers to explore, discuss, play and promote tabletop roleplaying games.

  • Society of Manufacturing Engineers- Inspires students to pursue careers in manufacturing and prepare them for the field.

  • Technology Club- Discussion on technological issues, computer solutions, and new ideas.

  • Vet Tech Student Chapter– Veterinary technology more in-depth discussions.

  • Veterans Club- Assists military vets with the transition to college

  • Vision Club- Christian bible study and fellowship group.

University Band & Choir

Offered once per week as a credit or non-credit course!

Band:

• • Wind ensemble
  • 2-hour practice once per week
  • Culminating concert in the Performing Arts Center
  • Plays a variety of music from chorales, marches, holiday, patriotic, cinematic, and orchestral works

Choir:

• The goal is to acquire skills in music education and vocal performance
• Practice once per week
• Performs at a public event each semester
• Opportunities for individual or small group performances
