Did you know? Head Start is the most successful, longest running, national school-readiness program in the United States!
This campaign is brought to you by SCCAA Head Start.
SCCAA Head Start offers many things. For one, it’s an excellent way to ready your child for the emotional, social, and intellectual demands of kindergarten and education as a whole. Secondly, it’s a certified and highly rated program that offers half-day and full-day classes for children 0 to 5 years old. If you are a working Stark County parent, this whole-child/whole-family program is designed with you in mind.
What Can I Expect?
Head Start consists of four major components. These ideologies are the foundation for the education and care your child will receive in the Head Start program.
- Education – A variety of learning experiences are provided to help children grow emotionally, socially, and intellectually.
- Health – In addition to early identification of health problems, Head Start provides dental, medical, and mental health checks, information about immunization resources, and nutritional services.
- Parental Involvement – Parents are involved in activities from start to finish; they participate in classes and workshops, volunteer in the program, and serve on a policy council and committees that make administrative decisions.
- Social Services – Head Start provides outreach to families that may benefit from additional services.
SCCAA Head Start is a nationally recognized program aimed at children in Stark County, ages 0 to 5, focusing on kindergarten readiness. With a 5 Star Step Up to Quality Rating at all of our SCCAA locations, Head Start is a unique educational and wellness program that instills an early love of learning in children.
